EDGE software, green building standard and certification system

EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) is a globally recognized green building standard, free software tool, and globally recognized certification system. EDGE provides a measurable, credible, and cost‑effective way for building projects to achieve at least 20% savings in energy, water, and embodied carbon in materials compared to local baselines, ultimately helping reduce costs and improve resource efficiency. EDGE responds to the need for a measurable and credible solution to prove the business case for sustainable buildings and to unlock financial investment.

As a resource, EDGE consists of three core components : a software for modeling resource efficiency, a focused green standard, and a verified green label. Guidance is available on the compliance process, including preliminary modeling, audits, and final certification. EDGE aims to support building professionals, investors, and institutions in adopting sustainable design by offering a practical pathway to resource‑efficient construction and building investment cases for access to global green finance mechanisms.
