This reference document aims to support policy-makers, technical partners and financing institutions in understanding and addressing climate‑sensitive health risks in the Western Pacific Region, including extreme weather events, vector‑borne and waterborne diseases, food insecurity, and impacts on vulnerable populations.
It provides a synthesis of evidence and country experiences on the health impacts of climate change, presenting scientific findings, national vulnerability profiles, and examples of adaptation actions across seven Member States reflecting diverse contexts across the region. It also outlines policy directions for addressing those risks by integrating health into national climate strategies, strengthening surveillance, improving emergency preparedness, and building climate‑resilient health systems.
