Launch of Jordan's Health Sector Climate Change Adaptation Strategy (2024–2033)
Partnership and cooperation in strengthening national efforts for climate change adaptation Photo credit: MoH Jordan On 15 July 2025, the Ministry of Health officially launched Jordan’s Health Sector Climate Change Adaptation Strategy (2024–2033). The strategy provides a ten-year roadmap to strengthen the resilience of the national health system to the impacts of climate change. It focuses on addressing climate-sensitive health issues such as vector-borne and water-borne diseases, heat-related illnesses, food safety, and occupational health, mental health, airborne and respiratory diseases.
The event highlighted the government’s commitment to integrating climate change adaptation within the health sector. The strategy emphasizes intersectoral cooperation, early warning systems, and capacity building to enhance preparedness and response to climate-related health challenges.
