WHO Guidance to Protect Health from Climate Change through Health Adaptation Planning

This document outlines the process for developing a Health National Adaption Plan (HNAP) and is designed to ensure that the process of iteratively managing the health risks of climate change is integrated into the overall National Adaptation Planning (NAP) process, including through assessing risks; identifying, prioritizing, and implementing adaptation options; and monitoring and evaluating the adaptation process.

Intended users

Ministry of Health staff, or an equivalent national department responsible for the development and implementation of the HNAP in a country. Secondary audiences include agencies supporting the HNAP and NAP processes in other sectors, nongovernment agencies, bilateral donors, officers in the WHO, and other UN organizations and technical agencies.
