Climate Change Health Adaptation Strategy and Action Plan of Nepal (2023-2030)

Nepal's Climate Change Health Adaptation Strategy and Action Plan aims to safeguard population health and the health sector from the adverse impacts of climate change in Nepal. This strategy supports the effective implementation of the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) for 2021-2050, prepared by the Government of Nepal.

The vision of this strategy is to establish a climate-resilient health system. Its mission focuses on minimizing health impacts through coordinated efforts across federal, provincial, and local levels, as well as with other stakeholders. The overarching goal is to adopt suitable adaptation measures to mitigate the negative effects of climate change on health. Key strategic objectives include raising awareness and building capacity on climate change, managing climate-sensitive health risks, promoting climate-resilient infrastructure and technologies, integrating climate adaptation into health policies, and fostering multi-stakeholder collaboration for research and knowledge promotion on climate change and health.
