Assessing health vulnerability to climate change: A guide for health departments

This guidance supports health authorities in undertaking climate change and health vulnerability assessments, based on the BRACE framework approach of the CDC. It guides users through a sequence of steps to conduct an assessment, including: defining the scope of the assessment, identifying key risk factors, gathering localized health and environmental data, evaluating community adaptive capacity, and using GIS tools to pinpoint populations and areas most at risk. Together, these steps help health authorities build a robust, evidence‑based understanding of climate‑related health threats and plan targeted, locally relevant responses.
