Population Services International (PSI)

Population Services International (PSI)

Population Services International (PSI) is a network of locally rooted, globally connected organizations working to build and support people-centered health systems that ensure quality, affordable care wherever and whenever it is needed.

For more than 50 years, PSI has worked alongside governments, civil society, and local communities to fight malaria, HIV, and TB, unlock access to reproductive healthcare, and deliver clean water and sanitation. PSI supports strengthening subnational capacity for delivery of quality assured, person-centered primary healthcare, including to those who are most vulnerable, through networks of public and private sector providers at scale in more than 40 countries. In addition, PSI brings longstanding presence and engagement in key technical working groups at national and subnational level and relationships within Ministries of Health to help align and operationalize health priorities and commitments, leveraging digital technology to equip decision makers with timely quality data. This includes support to government-led Public Health Emergency Operations Centers (PHEOC) to generate and act upon real-time, quality data from the public and private sectors so that health systems can get ahead of the health challenges of today, and tomorrow.

Supporting the following commitments:

  • Conduct climate change and health vulnerability and adaptation assessments (V&As) at population level and/or health care facility level.
  • Develop a health national adaptation plan (HNAP) informed by the health V&A, which forms part of the National Adaptation Plan.
  • Use the V&A and HNAP to facilitate access to climate change funding for health.
