Jordan Health Aid Society (JHASi) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization based in Jordan that aims to improve the health and well-being of communities in Jordan and the Middle East region. JHAS was founded in 2005 by a group of Jordanian doctors and health professionals who wanted to address the health challenges facing vulnerable communities, particularly refugees, in the region.
JHASi is adapting and focusing on Public Health in order to provide technical support that can help to identify and address the health impacts of climate change, such as the spread of infectious diseases and the effects of extreme weather events. This may involve developing and implementing health promotion and disease prevention strategies.
JHASi is a member of the national community focused on climate change and its impact on health, which is led by the Ministry of Health. In2022, JHASi hosted the first international conference in Jordan titled "Climate Change Impacts on the Jordanian Health Sector.”
