The International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) established sustainability as one of the priority programmes in the last years. The programme supports the implementation and delivery of FIP Development Goal 21 (Sustainability in pharmacy) and underpins the FIP vision for equitable access to safe and affordable medicines globally, both in terms of environmental sustainability but also the sustainability of pharmaceutical services and workforce. The FIP SustainabilityRx programme serves as a comprehensive hub for advancing sustainability in pharmacy and healthcare worldwide. It provides resources, tools, and guidance to pharmacists, educators, and policymakers to integrate sustainable practices into their work. The programme focuses on sustainable pharmacy services and models as well as environmental and planetary health, and social aspects of sustainability. By amplifying the voice of pharmacists, the profession can contribute to evidence-based solutions that align with global sustainability goals. Also, by engaging in proactive advocacy, the pharmacy profession can secure its place at the forefront of global climate-health discussions, ensuring that sustainable healthcare practices are prioritized for the benefit of both people and the planet.
