Climate and Sustainable Development Network (CSDevNet)

Climate and Sustainable Development Network (CSDevNet)

The Climate & Sustainable Development Network (CSDevNet), established on November 10, 2011, unites 300 organizations from Nigeria's six geo-political zones to champion climate-friendly, equity-based climate change and sustainable development solutions. Through their Climate Change and Health Thematic Working Group, CSDevNet addresses the nexus of climate change and public health, being in sync with CoP26 Health Programme Commitments to build climate resilient health systems. CSDevNet employs technical skills to respond to mounting health challenges including heat illness, vector- and water-borne diseases, malnutrition, mental illness, and air pollution, while developing health infrastructure and building community resilience. With UNFCCC and Green Climate Fund accreditation, CSDevNet collaborates with ECOWAS, AfDB, and Nigeria's Federal Government, making it better positioned to influence policy and implement adaptive strategies.  CSDevNet's work entails health advocacy for inclusion in climate policy, building capacity for health practitioners, and engagement with global and national partners. By addressing data gaps, resource limitations, and technology needs, CSDevNet enables cutting-edge monitoring and mitigation tools, ensuring sustainable health benefits and adaptive equity to climate issues in Nigeria.
