BRAC
Country: Bangladesh
BRAC is one of the world’s largest development organisations, founded in Bangladesh in 1972, and is recognised for its community-led, holistic approach to delivering sustainable, large-scale impact among marginalised populations in hard-to-reach and post-disaster settings across Asia and Africa, with a strong focus on women and children. Reaching over 100 million people annually, BRAC operates as a solution ecosystem, including social development programmes, social enterprises, humanitarian response, a bank and a university.
In line with the COP26 Health Programme Commitments, BRAC supports climate-adaptive and equitable health service delivery through integrated, community-led primary healthcare models that address climate-related health risks such as heat stress, vector-borne diseases, disaster-related health shocks. Its programmes in climate hotspots, including flood-prone, coastal and humanitarian contexts, demonstrate proven capacity in emergency response, climate adaptation, and resilient service continuity.
BRAC also leverages digital health platforms, implementation research, and evidence-driven programming to inform policy and scalable solutions. This combination of field presence, technical innovation, and systems strengthening positions BRAC as a strong partner for advancing climate-resilient, sustainable and inclusive health systems aligned with COP26 commitments.
