Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association

The Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association (AHHA) is the peak body for public hospitals and healthcare providers in Australia. Membership includes state and territory health departments, hospital networks, community health services, primary healthcare providers, aged care providers, universities, individual health professionals, and academics. AHHA brings an independent, whole-of-system perspective to issues of climate and health, working with health services, system coordinators, and governments to advocate for and inform the development of climate and health strategies, plans, and initiatives. AHHA's research arm, the Deeble Institute for Health Policy Research, synthesizes research evidence and provide recommendations on topical health policy issues, including decarbonizing clinical care in Australia and transforming the health system for sustainability.

AHHA co-leads the 'health systems resilience and sustainability' stream of the Healthy Environments and Lives (HEAL) Network, which aims to catalyze research, knowledge exchange, and translation to bring measurable improvements in health, health systems, and the environment. The organization is also a member of the Australian Chief Medical Officers Advisory Group for Health and Climate.
