One Health & Beyond Initiative

One Health & Beyond InitiativeImage credit: One Health Summit

On the occasion of the One Health Summit held in Lyon (5–7 April 2026), France, alongside 13 countries* and five international organizations, launched the “One Health & Beyond” initiative.

By committing to advance the One Health approach and the climate–health nexus across climate fora, and to fully integrate health considerations into Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and National Adaptation Plans (NAPs), these actors set out a clear political direction: placing health at the heart of climate action and the resilience of our societies. One planet, one health. 🌍🌱🐾

Building on existing frameworks, notably ATACH and the Belém Health Action Plan, this initiative aims to move beyond commitments and towards the concrete integration of climate and health into national public policies.

🤝 All countries are encouraged to join this growing coalition and contribute to advancing the integration of health into climate action. 👍For more information and to enquire about joining the initiative please contact Laura CHERGUI.

*The declaration has so far been endorsed by France, Cambodia, Botswana, Cyprus, Kenya, Armenia, Egypt, Brazil, Singapore, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mexico, Tunisia, WHO, WOAH, FAO, CGIAR and Africa CDC.
