Gender-Transformative Climate Policies: Integrating SRHR, GBV and Gender Equality into African NDC 3.0 and NAPs
Publisher: UNFPA
Online
The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Regional Offices of East and Southern Africa, Arab States and West and Central Africa in collaboration with the Africa Climate Change Fund - African Development Bank, invite you to a webinar on Gender-Transformative Climate Policies: Integrating SRHR, GBV and Gender Equality into African Nationally Determined Contributions 3.0 (NDC3.0) and National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) and presentation of Taking Action: A handbook for integrating sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender-based violence, and harmful practices into national climate policies and action.
Emerging evidence shows that climate change is a significant threat to human rights, exacerbating challenges to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), and increasing gender-based violence (GBV) and harmful practices, especially in Africa. Yet, the integration of these critical issues into national climate action remains limited, reflecting gaps in data, policy guidance, and funding.
As African countries prepare and submit their next generation of NDC 3.0, positioning SRHR and GBV at the center of climate resilience, including in NAPs, is essential to accelerate progress toward the SDGs.
