Healthcare faces mounting pressure to deliver better outcomes with fewer resources and lower environmental impact, as regulatory, industry, and consumer demands for sustainability rapidly increase.

This technical meeting brings together leading standards—including the new PAS 2090 Pharma Product Category Rules—and innovative approaches like pathway-based sustainability assessment developed by the NHS and industry partners. We’ll introduce pathway-based methods and tools, including CARESA (CARe pathway Environmental Sustainability Assessment), and show how integrating these perspectives guides low-carbon, climate-resilient health system planning and innovation.

Pairing Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) with care pathways environmental impact assessment unlocks choices that are clinically sound, lower carbon impact, and system smart—turning sustainability from a reporting task into an advantage for patients, providers, and payers.
