ATACH High-Level Strategic meeting in Paris

Under the Auspices of G7, Ministry of Health France will host a full day high-level ATACH event in Paris, France. 

ATACH has gathered international momentum as the global collaboration platform to implement priorities arising from global climate initiatives on climate & health, including those promoted by different COP Presidencies, including the UK (COP26 Initiatives on climate resilient and low carbon sustainable health systems), the Climate Action and Nutrition Initiative (I-CAN) launched at COP27, the COP28 Health Declaration, the WHA 77th Resolution on Climate and Health and the WHO Global Plan of Action on Climate and Health, and the recent COP30 Belem Health Action Plan (BHAP).

This event is only in-person and an article with meeting outcomes will be published shortly after the meeting.

  • Collective recognition of the need to better integrate “One Health” considerations into national climate policy frameworks (NDC, NAP and other relevants instruments) 

  • Strengthening exchange among peers and the sharing of experiences, including early lessons learned from countries making progress in integrating health into climate policies 

  • Transition of the “One Health & Beyond” coalition from a policy initiative to an action-oriented coalition 

  • Strengthening coordination with ATACH as an implementation platform
