ATACH Global Meeting: Transforming health systems in the face of climate change

ATACH Global Meeting in Madrid

In-person attendance by invitation only, live-streaming available

On 4-5 March 2024, members of the Alliance for Transformative Action on Climate and Health (ATACH) convened for a global in-person meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to share technical expertise and local experiences of building climate resilient and low carbon health systems among members of the ATACH, and discuss the strategic direction of the ATACH moving forward.

Building on the health outcomes of COP26, COP27 and COP28, particularly the COP28 Health Day, COP28 UAE Declaration on Climate and Health, the Global Goal on Adaptation, the Sharm-El-Sheikh Adaptation Agenda, and the Guiding Principles on Financing Climate and Health Solutions, ATACH members convened to agree on how these outcomes should shape the priorities of the ATACH moving forward responding to country demands and promoting better understanding of the barriers and opportunities to progress this important agenda.

The event was co-hosted by the Spanish Ministry of Health, Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), the United Kingdom Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), and the World Health Organization (WHO).
